This is a now page, a snapshot of what I’m focused on right now.

I’m a math and CS student at the University of Waterloo, based in Waterloo, Ontario.

building

• bit: a video understanding engine. Semantic search over video that’s cheap enough to actually run at scale.
• ragtag: a LAN cluster for LLM inference, handing work to each machine based on what it can handle.
• A homelab for self-hosting and local inference.
• Infrastructure and observability for startups and nonprofits: pipelines processing millions of frames, a 20k-member platform held at 99.9% uptime.

learning

• VLMs and multimodal representation: contrastive vs. generative, early vs. late fusion. papers I like
• Embedded systems: Rust, ARM, microcontrollers, firmware, Linux drivers.
• The serving side: quantization, vector search, making inference cheap.

looking for

• Internship or full-time work in ML infrastructure, systems engineering, or applied ML.

advocating for

• Privacy, security, right to repair, free and open source software.
